New to Reformer Pilates?

  • Absolutely! And we would love to have you in for your very first Pilates class!

We run our classes so that they are suitable for beginners to advanced so everyone is welcome!

We do this by adapting the exercises to each fitness and strength level as needed. Before your first class we will also get you to arrive 5-10 mins early so that we can set you up on the Reformer, this will help you get familiar with the machine before the class starts and help you feel comfortable right from the beginning!

  • Yes please! We are a boutique fitness studio meaning there are only so many spots available per class, so book your spot via the app or website booking page!

  • You can book 6 weeks in advance so you can book away!

  • Once you register with one of our studios, you will be prompted to complete our pre health questionnaire via the app or website.

So, before you even arrive at our studios, we will already know anything you want us to and will have already planned for any adaptions you might need. We may still ask you a few questions regarding anything you have told us but ALSO be sure to let us know of anything else that you may have left out or that has occurred after you completed the form!

  • We would love to see you in the studio 10 minutes before your class begins to get you comfortable and ready! We will take the chance to go over any injuries, restrictions, or questions you may have plus show you around the studio! Trying Reformer for the first time? We will also show you around the Reformer machine so that you know the foot bar from the foot straps before the class even starts.

  • You can check out what we recommend for each different class, but we highly recommend a drink bottle and sweat towel for most classes.

Trying a Reformer class? Be sure to wear socks (grip socks are best, but any will work!) and if you have a Reformer mat be sure to bring it along!

  • Head to the app or website, login and cancel your class booking! We ask that you do this at least 4 hours before your class to allow someone else to take your spot!

  • All of them! But to create a great routine, find what works for your likes and goals. You can read up on all of our classes but the best way to find out if you like the class is to try!

  • You sure can! You can find out which classes are pregnancy friendly in the class description but remember to also let us know once you are over 12 weeks pregnant and don’t forget to chat first with your medical practitioner and get their clearance.

Once in your second trimester we offer a short 1:1 reformer session to show you your pregnancy modifications and make sure you are still comfortable.

We do not recommend any class that is strenuous for you, that may cause you to over heat or raise your heart rate above the recommended levels, which is why we do not recommend our Power Reformer class or cardio based classes.

  • Our minimum age is 14, however if under 16 you will need to participate with a parent or guardian.

Classes

  • You sure can!

  • You sure can! Kids are welcome to our mid morning classes in our kid areas as well as in reception area chairs.

Prams and capsules are also welcome in both rooms parked next to you.

We do ask that all snacks are kept to the kids area or reception chairs and away from equipment, and remind parents that they are responsible for kids during classes. We would also ask that if bringing devices (which we know is essential!), to please bring headphones.

  • Yes there is, and we highly recommend adding yourself to it if your favorite class is fully booked.

Once a spot becomes available for you in the class you will receive an email asking you to CONFIRM or CANCEL your spot!

To ensure you receive this email, please double check your email settings in the app or in your profile, under ‘Settings’.

  • Item descriptionTo ensure that each class runs smoothly and without disruption it is super important to be on time. This is important as a courtesy to the others in the class and to the instructor.

We do however understand that sometimes things happen and you may be 1-2 minutes late to class. Our policy is that your spot will be held in the class for 5 minutes and that if you arrive after this time you may be turned away or your spot given to somebody else.

  • Any comfortable active wear and if you are doing a Pilates or Barre class then you must have socks on! For Reformer we do recommend wearing grip socks as these are really beneficial to your workout and are available to purchase from reception. However normal socks are still fine.

Remember if you do not cancel, the spot you have booked can not be given to anyone else, so we ask you to cancel as early as possible to show courtesy for your fellow studio community members.

We do understand that sometimes things happen and you cannot cancel prior to the 4 hours, in these circumstances we ask you to please email us at hello@pilatesplusgisborne.com.au

  • Everyone is more likely to get into the waitlisted classes that they wish to attend.

Members also tell us it makes them more accountable! Once they book their class they are less likely to cancel because they don’t feel like working out anymore!
